Yup, first time a quest update has been announced via the login screen. I'd say, continue this way of communicating.

Me and a group of people have just been through the UW in NM.
We're currently standing around the in the Hall of Judgment, waiting for the red bar to fill. It's about half way now.
That's right, standing. We killed Dhuum ages ago.
Are we supposed to be able to kill him?

Finished.
This is was an interesting concept - the idea of a long endurance battle with a boss that you couldn't easily kill, except it's at the end of a series of quests that takes a good while for a balanced team to power through without making any mistakes and you can kill him fairly quickly, which means you end up waiting 20 minutes for the chest to appear.
It needs some refining I think.

Hey all. I know you're concerned about the SF issue, so we talked to the devs about what their goals were so we could convey that to you. I just posted about the SF issue here.

Thanks for the update, would be nice if you could start maintaining this sort of communication to the playerbase from now on.

QFT... at least it didn't get to be till the absolute END of November then hear theres no skill balance. They've pulled that after the fact type thing before too.
Still, I can't understand why in the month before the next skill update they're allowing permasins to have even MORE expensive items to farm for. Maybe not as fast, but after some refining and practice I'd say that most will be making roughly the same amount by selling the new minis and scythe.

Stance. (monster only) For 5 seconds, your attacks: remove enchantments from monks and dervishes; cause conditions on warriors and paragons; interrupt elementalists and ritualists; lose a hex when attacking necromancers or mesmers; and (most importantly of all) cannot miss rangers or Assassins.

Actually to nitpick, I don't recall much in the way of indication in alpha that they'd always planned to include henchmen - from what I saw, they were a fairly late addition. 'Course, I was only in it because I was in the same house as someone else who actually had the time to devote to it (I'd had to sign the NDA anyway for being in the same house, and we figured we might as well see how well it handled having three connections on 33.6k dialup...) so I may have missed something.

Don't delete it. You'll regret it if you ever DO get the chance to do it.

You guys at ANet aren't very good at your jobs.
I figure, with my wealth of GW knowledge, I'll give you some tips as to how you can improve on what you're doing to earn our money.
Skill balancers; Ruin Shadow Form. Totally. Then ruin anything people come up with as a replacement.
Community Relations: Stop giving us pointless nonanswers. Tell us when you're going to do things, tell us when you aren't. Writing a page of HERP DERP WE'RE GONNA LOOK INTO IT just makes people mad.
Everyone else: Hurry up and finish GW2. We may be patient, but we're not THIS patient. You DO still want money...right?

Just had "A new build is available exit GW" in chat a few min ago.
How many times is that now to fix something that should have been checked
in QA before adding to the live server.

So they rushed Dhuum out the door before it was ready, with it having many bugs because many of us (myself included) were QQ'ing because there was no conclusion to the quest chain in sight.
Both of these problems could have been solved by an official Anet announcement confirming permanent changes to UW, but that bugs needed to be worked out and when to expect it. *sigh* I keep saying it and I'll say it again, its a CR fail.

The sad part is that while you guys are possibly the biggest whiners on the entire scope of the internet, some reason Anet considers you guys the group they're trying to appease with changes.. regardless of the fact you guys will pat them on the back for a nerf, then tear them down for another skill for the next 6 months and attack the job they've done for a game you likely haven't given a cent to for months or years. Rinse. Repeat.
Guess what? We just got a FREE content addition. Whether or not you think it's sufficient, or would rather cry about the things you didn't receive for free, to tear down their job and efforts is incredibly arrogant and frankly, idiotic.

This is only a problem because of their "free content" in buffing out SF to stupid levels. And no, I haven't given them any money, but up until they significantly decreased support for the game and went on to GW2, I've been telling people not to buy it AND to be skeptical of GW2 when it comes out.
If the game is good it will sell, but they definitely wont be getting past players back from this haphazard approach, and they certainly won't be getting my close friends.
A good game sells, good CR keeps players through incorporating criticism. Anet is in the fortunate place where all they need to do is sell once. And once you buy, unless you pawn off the account you might as well play since you're not paying anything to keep it.

So you'd rather they take invaluable development time from GW2 (the very game you're now skeptical of) to put in new balances and content to GW1? That's kind of backwards in it's logic. I'd be more worried about GW2 if they continued to sink a good amount of development time in GW1, especially given how hard the game industry has been hit by the current economy.
It's a different game. There's more than enough content for the current players of GW. Focus on making the next one great.
